S.S. CHAPTER 6

SHADOWLINE SAGA

CHAPTER 6:

Born alone die alone

its finally come to me; im all alone. i was born into this world alone, friendless, and unloved. and i will die the same. ashes to ashes dust to dust. eventually everything that i know, everything i have experience, everything in my world, will one day turn to dust and be rebuilt over by the world that is slowly losing its true humanity. you can perfect the human genome and create the perfect human, but it is the randome genes and the lives we live that truly make us human. if you remove the aspect of free will from soldiers, remove our genes ability to adapt and form the way it want, and create a perfect human being; that will be the end of humanity.
yes you could try ghost in the shells idea and make it so we can transfer our memories to new bodies and new brains, but at what cost? it is the fact that we have free will that allows us to pass judgement on our own actions and choices before we make them. we make mistakes, we cheat, we break our hearts, but we learn from what went wrong and when the time comes we try not to make the same mistakes again.
the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting the same result. well is that really insanity? or is insanity doing the same thing over and over and never learning from what went wrong? you can keep hammering a railroad spike with a piece of pvc and yes you will never pond the spike into the ground. however, eventually thy pvc will shatter and you will have to try another way to pound the spike in its treads. how is doing the same thing and expecting a different result insanity? its by our free will and our ability to adapt that make us realize than after you hit a table enough times with a sledgehammer you will eventually have no table left to smash.
from chaos comes order, from insanity comes epiphany, and from human will comes humanity. you remove a persons free will and what is that person but a mindless zombie wandering the streets in a human world, trying to find its purpose? evetually we all question the requests and commands of our leaders. remove free will and an innocent bystander can become a victim of homicide.
know the difference between what you want and what the world makes you think you want. think about whether you choices in your life were truly your own. did you really choose to be a drug dealer? a prostitute? a one night stand? a single mother? a pregnant teen? an addict? a lawyer? a celebrity? a factory worker? a cripple with no hope of ever walking again? a victim of circumstance? a business owner? a soldier? or were you following the instructions and ideas of those around you? are you really popular? or do people just love you because you look good and have a good personality? are you really a criminal? or are you a simple human being who once had hopes for a better life and was turned down by the very society of which you hoped to save?
remeber who you are, never forget the things you like. never let other people tell you what you are allowed to like. remember what you truly want to be and never let that memory go. remember to stay yourself no matter what others say. if you find an insurmountable obstacle, then climb till you reach the top. even if you climb for all eternity and you see no hope of ever finding the summit, remeber what you want and who you are. if you cant get over a wall then find a way around it. no obstacle is too great to pass and nothing that gets in your way is indestructable. if something can be created then it can be destroyed. if something exists then it means it was once created.
find the way to take it apart and you will never be alone. houses can be demolished, money can be burned, cars can be crushed, metal can be melted, fire can be put out, light can be extinguished, and shadows can be lit. remember that nothing lasts forever exept the will of the human spirit. i am alone with these words, i have met only two others who think the same. one has vanished and the other i have no idea how to find.
