a fateful accident

this is fucking freaky. i was walking the dog when a freak rain storm hit [you know the one we had today [between 1:30 and 2:30 where it just POURED]. i was walking towards the front of the complex when i suddenly had an odd feeling. i felt like something bad was about to happen, and the dog began to tug the leash in the opposite direction. then out of the blue a flatbed truck [blue/grey/green maybe with wooden rear bed] hydroplaned in front of the fence surrounding the complex. it shot off the road and barely missed wrecking headlong into a tree before swerving back onto the road. they drove [roughly 15 no more than 25 feet] more before realizing what i had already seen. they had lost most of the scrap they had in the back of their truck. in some wil e. coyote like accident they hit the brakes yet instead of physics carrying the scrap forward it somehow pulled it backwards. they backed up to get what they could, but now three hours later i see the aftermath. those drivers were lucky they were even alive. the scrap had literally impaled straight through one side of a tree and out the other and they left it there. had they only been a few feet more to the right they would have flipped in the ditch and been impaled. now their own disregard to remove the giant hunk of metal from the tree puts anyone driving, cycling, rollerblading, or even joggin if it happens to start raining again. its less than a foot or two [three to four max] from the edge of the road and to the right is nothing but a big ditch and a wooden fence. i know how hard it is to remove something like that from a tree, but its a MASSIVE impalement hazzard. and somehow both me and the dog felt the accident coming before hand. this is waaaay freaky.
