time for poetry 13: [not so] lonely world

[Not so] Lonely world

Just a lonely boy, looking for a lonely girl,

Just a lonely boy, livin’ in a lonely world,

Just a lonely boy, wokin' a lonely life,

Just a lonely boy, livin a life of sadness and strife.

Just a lonely girl, looking for a lonely boy

Just a lonely girl, being tossed aside like a lonely toy,

Just a lonely girl, livin a lonely life,

Just a lonely girl, filled with sadness and strife.

Just a lonely boy, and a lonely girl,

Living together in a lonely world,

Two lovers brought together by a chance of fate,

True love holds forth there’s no debate,

Just a lonely boy and a lonely girl,

Sharing hearts in a twilight twirl.

But it’s not such a lonely life

When you have someone by your side.

An uphill race in a downhill world,

Someone you can trust, whom to confide.

One step forward begins a journey

Stop…take one step back.

Forgive not forget, future days passed;

Take on the universe like a heart attack.

Forget to smell the flowers

Live the dream on an endless track.

The train to dullsville becomes a rocket to love.

Two hearts intertwined gives flight to even the wingless dove.

Take the world of pain and misery

Take this ode to you from me.

We may not be lovers, but I broke the bridge.

I’m over the edge of your heart; I’ve fallen off the ridge.

Diving through the gates of chance

Beyond a bad romance.

My words fill the page of our untold story.

Will it end in shame or glory?

Five years ago? Remember that day?

You were the first one who almost got away.

Life without you is a farce filled fluke.

You are my queen, love our archduke.

In our kingdom the skies shine above,

There is no rain in the kingdom of love.

Five years we spoke, worlds apart.

Never a moment when I thought,

That I would want your heart.

Five years, that feels like forever

Five years we were birds of a feather

Now we share a world together.

The world is still quite lonely, I can see.

But it is much less lonely when you’re with me.
