time for poetry 10: Runaway is a runway

Runaway is a runway

Runaway is nothing but a runway;

So I’m taking my flight today.

Not coming back tomorrow.

Life is endless and full of sorrow.

I feel like flying up

Through the stratosphere.

I can fly forever and a day,

As long as you are here.

So let’s run away;

Just you and I.

Spread our wings

And touch the skies.

Runaway is nothing but a runway;

So I’m taking my flight today.

Not coming back tomorrow.

Life is endless and full of sorrow.

Took flight like Icarus,

Tried to touch the sun.

Fly so high and soar so far;

Feathers fall one by one.

Staring at life’s parade

Slowly strolling by.

Blood covered battlefields,

The drummer boy will cry.

In our darkest hour,

With our hopes on the line.

Our friends become our enemies,

Our positions are defined.

What man could save us from the approaching fire?

The stork brings on death, hanged on a wire.

Runaway is nothing but a runway;

So I’m taking my flight today.

Not coming back tomorrow.

Life is endless and full of sorrow.

Through the hate and the thick and thin

I only had one prize I wanted to win.

The light that pierces the darkest of sorrow

The thing that brings me to see tomorrow

The fire that warms the icy harp.

The tape that repairs the paper heart.

The light of my life that shines through the false truth

That light of my life…is you.

Runaway is nothing but a runway;

So I’m taking my flight today.

Not coming back tomorrow.

Life is endless and full of sorrow.

Why fight a man who carries no sword?

Nothing but a shield and a chord.

The angels’ choir sings on and on.

The glockenspiel rings; the bells “DONG!”

The song that fills and warms the soul.

The food that fills the empty bowl.

The people who stand hungry and torn

Will be fulfilled like never before.

One man’s waste is another man’s dinner.

One man eats; a child gets thinner.

A candle that shines twice as bright

Will burn half as long.

The suffering who sing with all their might

Simply shorten strife’s suffering song.

Runaway is nothing but a runway;

So I’m taking my flight today.

Not coming back tomorrow.

Life is endless and full of sorrow.

When we fly we rarely think

About the lives and hopes we sink.

So high up in the air never would we care

About the pain going on down there.

A corporation controlling the huddled masses

Becomes an ant under magnifying glasses.

Compared to the cosmos we are but mere dots.

Connecting and drawing lines to conclusive plots.

A churches spire is a dick

That rapes the sinners and saints.

Lack of equality makes me sick

Treating race like primer and paints.

Sounds to the deaf are colors to the blind.

Pop culture music and art, nothing but putrid slime.

A sight of disgust to men robbed of sight

Is like the best sight of their life.

A musical not like the banshees cry

Would bring tears to a deaf man’s eyes.

If the blind and deaf could dream like you and me,

Could they follow the notes and see all the trees?

To men without principle, life is a conquest.

To those who struggle; its cardiac arrest.

Runaway is nothing but a runway;

So I’m taking my flight today.

Not coming back tomorrow.

Life is endless and full of sorrow.

Planes, plains, and parallel planes

Flying over grassy fields and deserted wastelands,

Veins, vain, and bleeding veins.

Piles of gold, impossibilities, and blood soaked sands.

A wrecking ball inside a kind man’s soul.

A board cut in half, two halves make a whole.

A breach in our hull; there will not be.

Destiny is calling for you from me.

Together we stand, defying all the odds.

Break down walls and destroy the gods.

Runaway is nothing but a runway

I’m getting off my plane today.

Runaway is but an endless runway.

One I’m not ready to take this day.

I’m on my way home;

Coming your way.

I’m coming back.

And I’m here to stay.

you might be an illegal immigrant...
if the only sport you ever participated in was border jumping.
if when nasa said that there might be aliens in outer space, you called your relatives to make sure none of them were missing.
if you earned your citizenship by being taught how to climb a fence by your child.
if you ever had the border patrol PERSONALLY come to your house to arrest you.
if the only words of english you know are: "run! its the narcs!"
if you ever tried to deal pot on the street, and it was just a pot.

and for those of you who may be p***ed at me,
you might be an american...
if your idea of equal rights is complete segregation.
if you devoted your life to preventing gay marraige.
if you became a republican just because you felt sorry for bush.
if you think every person thet has the name of a terorist, including babies, is a terrorist. (hey america, heres a lesson for ya! in the case of a terrorist, the diapers ON THE HEAD!)
if you think that the womens rights movement  was where girls were given access to their own personal bathrooms.
if you think that the democrats and republicans should just shut the f*** up about the d*** health bill and sign it already.

for those of you that are now angry,
you might be a forein american...
if you think that the republicans and democrats are both nuts and belong in a jar.
if you came here seeking freedom, and instead got a foot in the a**.
if you are constantly the suspect of crimes you either never did, or you did, but they just didnt charge you till you went to the police station with a complaint. (you all know who you are.)
if you would rather see the entire star trek series, followed by twilight, than see another president like bush get elected or pay higher taxes.
if you think our culture sucks.
if you think america needs to go on a nationwide diet.
if you have ever eaten a dog, cat, monkey, buffalo, squid, octopus, or the words from any smart mouthing  jacka** who thinks theyre better than you.

school days and fool days

school story

this is me personally speaking here: theres schools out there that have all kinds of names. some are interesting, some are not; some are wierd, some are not.  i came from an elementary school called wheeler elementary. the only thing that was wheely about it was how the years just kept rolling and rolling on and on. my middle school was called myers. ok, thats also a food store, spelled differently (meijer's).  every time i said to somebody that i went to myers, "your school is named after a food store", is the first response. we might as well been named after the store anyways. that place was about as thrilling as the twilight sagas plot. i got called into the principals office for putting "i dont know, and dontt care", on every single open response on the cats testing in the 6th grade. i went back to class just slightly more of an idiot than i left. it was gym class anyways, which requires about zero brainpower in middle school. why do you think that they make the schools let everyone have "equal rights to play"? what if the jocks were to play chess and quick recall, and the nerds were to play sports? i can tell you that shaq would still not make any penalty points. whats that NBC? another game he suck at? the one school name that perplexes me is martin luther king  jr. high.  now is it, martin luther king ""jr. high" school, or martin luther king  jr, "high school"? seriously, its like when you have the same song, runaway, by love and theft, instead of run away, by frankly i dont giva a d***. if you have any interesting school names, or stories feel free to submit them. i could always use more material, and posting things you write here can get you attention.

that dam fish...
